Stages of Human Life Cycle
Earth is Nature’s Kingdom and Human beings are a part of its creation. From Birth to Death, Humans go and grow, through different stages of Life which are differentiated by age, with different Needs, Emotions and Capabilities.
Our Social, psychological, physiological health, Intellectual, emotional level, financial situation, family need, etc., changes at different stage of life. Every stage of life is equally significant but requirements are different and every stage of life is necessary for all individual / human being.
When we understand the different stages and their needs and wants at that particular stage of life, which is natural, it will be easier to deal, communicate and understand the situation of our family member, friends, relatives or partner.
It is important for everyone to understand changes which might come in each stages of life so that we are prepared for that age and its needs.
Objective of this training :
It’s to provide awareness on changes on all level .. be it physiological, psychological, emotional, financial, social connectivity (relationships), which will help us in understanding the context and root cause of conversation / behaviour, from where it coming from – for maintaining peace and reduce the conflict in the society.
We aim to prepare the society on the mechanism to deal, by spreading awareness on the changes encountered at the every stage of life and increasing age.
Now, let’s understand the different aspects of each stage of the human life cycle ………
Stage One : Age 8 To 13 years

The biological advent of puberty unleashes a powerful set of changes in of us. For example, during the adolescent stage give rise to different changes in a teenager’s physical, emotional, cultural aspects.
Physical changes strikes at this Puberty.
Stage Two : Age 13 To 18 years
Introduction : At this stage, adolescent, faces dilemma & emotional conflict in rational thought process as their body goes through changes in sexual, emotional, cultural, spiritual passion. Along with the above changes, Social media/ External connects also starts influencing along with peer pressure. Teen Age is that period when the mind is running wild with ideas and imaginations and the heart is brimming with hopes, wishes and aspirations.
Unfortunately, it’s a sad reality in our society, teen-age (the most delicate phase) is the most neglected one.
Physical Changes : During teen years, a child goes through drastic changes in terms of their physicality, which naturally makes parents think their child is growing into an adult.
Physiological : This is the stage of onset of puberty. There is a varied changes that happen in your body and its structure., height growth, width growth, hair growth all over body, hormonal imbalance which occur due to puberty, growth in genital organs.
Emotional : This is also the stage, where you will confused and struggling to get a bearing of your own emotional and mental state of mind. You may not be able to relate and connect with your parents and elders about problems. Communication is a major barrier within family. You think you know everything and want to behave like an adult but actually you are unaware of the realities of your mental, emotional and physical state.
Social : This is the stage, where one tends to spend more time with your friends or peers. Attention is more focused on enjoying and merriment. This is a stage to be alert and on guard so that you should not be lured in alcohol or drug abuse or smoking or other nefarious activities.
Family : At this stage, one may be more rebellious and at odds with the views & advice of parents and elders. One tends to be aloof from their family. This is a stage where the family tends to treat the adolescent and expects him/her to behave in a certain way (matured adult) but they are still feeling like a small child. Suddenly one may feel there are lot of Family and Social compulsions imposed on them and in the process of not wanting to be in acceptance, their behaviour is treated as rebellious, irrational and impulsive.
Relationships : You get more attached to your school/ college friends rather than your relatives.
Financial : You are still completely dependent on your parents financially for everything. This is the age, you will be vastly influenced by the external surroundings (peer pressure) particular your friends and peers to buy or show off materialistic things .. mobile phone, clothes, shoes, etc.
Academics/Career : Expected to focus on academics, largely as it is deciding factor and stepping for their career and future. It’s during this chaotic and tough phase, the elders impose upon them their own hopes and unfulfilled wishes in terms of academic performance/choice career.
Stage Three: Age 18 To 25 years
Introduction : This is life’s crucial turning point. At this age, the fate of the rest of life is decided. This is the age, they decide about their career, their relationship, their relationship with family starts stabilizing, emotionally still unstable, financial journey starts. Starting from this age, one tends to be independent and wants to explore new possibilities of achieving greatness in life and new lifestyle. They are in self search mode with society, their identity, their capabilities, their emotions, etc. They try to connect more with friends, peers, colleagues wanting to expand their social circle.
In this age, one feels they know everything but actually they are very naïve of the practical living in the society. In process, they reject or rebel to any guidance or advise from their family. They are more inclined to find comfort in their peer circle, where sometimes they might get connected with antisocial teens who might lead them to do wrong things which they might repent later in life.
Physiological : This is age the change from teenage to adulthood occurs. This is threshold age for understanding and exploring life. You are into new relationship which may test emotional, physical & mental strength. As you reach to the age of 25 years, Physical development is completed, though your brain is still developing.
Physical : This is the age when external and internal biological changes are complete. You will experience a lot of hormonal changes occurring within you. Some may experience the immense difference in your physical body and also have issues with skin, hair, weight, voice, etc.
Relationship : This is the age when your family seems be against you and you look forward for support from your friends and you there is a tendency to be attracted to opposite gender, wherein you look for emotional support and sometimes physical too.
Financial : This is the age when you start comparing about materialistic things which you have and what you want. Though you are still dependent of your family for your academic expenses, clothes, etc… You look for possible means to earn more to support your extra wants. Beware of getting associated with groups who might take advantage of you and make you do nefarious activities in name of giving employment.
Educational : This is the time you are expected to focus on choosing your career path. These are decisive years to select your profession and study accordingly. You may have confusing ideas/thoughts about your choices of careers or subjects.
Stage Four : Age 28 To 35 years
Introduction : This third stage is very enthusiastic age in which one has to accomplish many responsibilities, including finding a home and getting married, establishing a family or circle of friends, and/or getting a good job /having a good career. This age, thus serves us at any stage of life when we need to go out into the world and make our mark.
An adult mind comprises of experiences, pedagogy, surroundings, lessons learnt, actions taken, interests developed, time spent on during the teen phase of a person’s life.
He/she have to deal with many aspects here.

Physiological change : Nothing major, as your bodily growth is completed and you set in your body structure. This is the time you may have erratic eating habits / wrong eating habits which needs to channelized and structure so as to be taking care of your health.
Career / Job change : This is age to settle and decide about job or business so that further you should not take any unnecessary risk.
Marriage : This is the most suitable age to get married and start your family life.
Parenthood : Need to plan work- home life balance to give sufficient time and attention you new born.
Financial Change : Plan to invest in suitable/diverse areas keeping your and family’s future requirement and goals in mind.
Social change : This is the time you get connected with more new people like your office colleagues, old friends.
Family : Give emotional support to your entire family including wife and parents and taking care to be in touch with your extended family.
Relation : You get connected and build new relations with relative through marriage and at the same get more connected with your own relatives.
Stage Four : Age 38 To 43 years
After many years in young adulthood of following societal norms & creating a life, people in midlife often take a break from worldly responsibilities to reflect upon the deeper meaning of their lives, with new understanding. At this stage of life, he/she may have to deal with mid life crisis. This element of thought represents an important resource that we can all draw upon to deepen and enrich our lives at any age.

• Women face major challenges at this stage of life because of menopause and biological changes in her body.
• Awareness of Health-related diseases/issues .. BP, Diabetes, Obesity, etc.
Physiological change : This is a period for onset of lifestyle diseases for most of us. We need to take care of our eating habits, exercise and sleeping pattern and other aspects of our lifestyle.
Parenthood : By this age, children are school going, hence taking care of their academic growth as well as emotional and physical well being.
Financial Change : By this age, you are fairly sure of your financial goal in life particularly owning a house and movable and immovable properties. You also plan your investments for your children’s educational future.
Anatomy change : At this stage we should be more careful of wear & tear of our body. This would be the time when you start feeling tired easily.
Family : By this time the children would be in their adolescence and fairly capable of taking care of themselves but would give you as parents a hard time as their needs & demands for material things will increase.
Complete Family : At this stage your parents would be old/senior citizen, hence would require more time and attention and emotional support. Also you may have take care of the medical expenses.
Stage Five : Age 48 To 52 years
This is the last turning stage in one’s mature adulthood, having raised families, established oneself in one’s work life, and become contributors to the betterment of society through volunteerism, mentorships, and other forms of philanthropy.
This stage is a Retiring age. he/she might face problems of Self-esteem by families or society . A sense of vacuum might start developing in his life. At this retiring age, it is important to take understand utilization of finance(Pension) for his secure future.
All of humanity will benefits from his kindness. Moreover, we all can learn from their example to give more of ourselves to others.

Physiological change : Your body takes a toll with age, it starts manifesting various age related ailments. Your body will seem to be sagging and you will have work towards keeping yourself fit.
Career / Job : You are almost on the verge of retirement or retired. Your daily routine of going to office will cease. Try and find an active project or hobby to keep yourself engaged or occupied mentally and physically.
Parenthood : The children will be all grown up and ready for marriage. This is time to fulfil your parental responsibility in finding a suitable match and see the children settle in life.
Financial Change : There will no regular source of income, for some they may have pension. You will have to fall back on your savings and investments. Your children by now would working and earning and contributing to the family’s household expenses.
Anatomy : Men and Women go through their menopausal stage. There is a lot of hormonal imbalance too at this stage. Major issues are of calcium deficiency and muscle deterioration and denture problems.
Family : Either the parents will have passed away or may be very old. Most of the children may stay separately or in some other state or country for their career prospects. At this stage loneliness of parents is major concern.
Complete family : You have more time to get connected with your friends, relatives, kith & kin, extended family and have more time to spend with your grandchildren.
Many, with long lives have acquired a rich repository of experiences that, they can use to help guide others. He/She , thus represent the source of wisdom that exists in each of us, helping us to avoid the mistakes of the past while reaping the benefits of life’s lessons.
This is very crucial and sensitive stage of life where son/daughter, shall look after him/her and take care just like a child.
Stage Six : Age 58 To 63 years
Physiological change : If you have not taken care of yourself, you may have serious health challenges including issues of mobility. Also mentally you are more afraid to venture out independently.
Parenthood : Your grandchildren will be grownup or may be working too and probable they would be of marriageable age.
Financial change : At this stage you are financially completely dependent on your children or your grandchildren.
Anatomy : Because of medical or health condition, you may have undergone surgeries like cataract, angioplasty or prostrate or hernia or any other.
Social : Since your movements are restricted, your socialising is minimal.

On the other hand, the number of choices have multiplied at an alarming rate and so has the exposure & availability of opportunities. Also, the revolution brought about by artificial intelligence and automation, job scenarios & job requirements are drastically changing. In the midst of this muddled phase, a teen is supposed to make a career choice.
Finally, this choice better be right, because an average person spends 1,08,000 hours at work, over a lifetime. That’s almost one third of our life and 10 hours of the 24 hours we have in a day! If one isn’t satisfied with what their doing in life, it has its repercussions in all the other areas as well.
